A NEW GATEWAY TO KALEVA

The Kalevanrinne block area that complements the modernist residential area of Kaleva, which is also of international significance, forms a sculptural complex by the southern entrance of the area’s main route, the Sammonkatu road, and bids everybody arriving in the area welcome. This group of buildings creates a counterpart for the iconic tower buildings at the other end of the Sammonkatu road, which also serve as a landmark.  The modern values, light, and verdancy characteristic of the Kaleva area are reflected in this complex, formed by seven residential multi-storey buildings. The parking area has been placed under an active roof, and the sunny green yard provides a space for spending time, playing, and meeting friends and family. Petri Tavilampi has acted as the main designer.
