OFFICE PREMISES FOR A CAMPUS DEVELOPER
Suomen Yliopistokiinteistöt Oy moved from the new Kampusareena building of the Tampere University of Technology to the older Tietotalo building. The new premises were to meet high quality standards and the needs of the dynamic spatial development company. In the project, BST-Arkkitehdit Oy worked together with Workspace Oy, which was responsible for the conceptual and interior design. Solutions were examined with the aid of, e.g., a 3D virtual model.
Sergej von Bagh acted as the main designer and Jon Thureson as the project architect in the project.

Client's point of view
The spatial modification project for the new office of Suomen Yliopistokiinteistöt Oy was carried out during the spring and summer of 2017 at the Hervanta campus in Tampere. The modern office environment requirements and the need to make the premises reflect the operational culture of SYK served as the starting points for the design. BST Arkkitehdit Oy was successfully responsible for the project’s principal and architectural design. We also utilised their expertise in other matters, such as the selection of special lights. Understanding the client’s needs, scheduling, and guiding the client in connection with them, as well as presenting the options in an up-to-date manner and providing input in situations which required making choices are also factors for which I particularly wish to thank BST. At the design stage, we, the future users of the premises, had the opportunity to get a virtual tour of our new office environment with the aid of a 3D-modelled spatial presentation even before the actual construction work had started. We are very pleased with the result, and, thanks to BST, we dared to make choices without which our office would lack something.
