REVOLUTIONARY HOUSING ARCHITECTURE ON THE SHORE OF LAKE NÄSIJÄRVI
The Halkoniemi area by Lake Näsijärvi in Lentävänniemi, Tampere, offers a unique setting for high-quality housing. The main architectural objective with the Rimini buildings has been breaking the boundaries of customary multi-storey dwelling. A new concept for multi-storey dwelling has been achieved by combining it with quality factors usually associated with detached house dwelling, such as the larger amount of living space, modern technological solutions, flat-specific storage rooms at flat level, large windows, spacious balconies, and lavish interior decoration solutions. Petri Tavilampi has been acting as the main designer and Ida Väänänen as the project architect in this project, and Anna Tuohimaa from OMAdesign has been in charge of interior design.

Client's point of view
The design task for the waterfront site by Lake Näsijärvi must be left in capable hands. I only asked two trusted architectural firms for a design proposal. BST had previously designed a sculptural building for us in Härmälänranta, and Tavilampi had managed to complement our completed concept, with its stringent requirements, in a professional way, making it even more interesting.
Of the two candidates, we decided to choose BST, because I knew that we would get top-rate designs of high technical quality.
The positive feedback we received from clients during the pre-marketing of Rimini has reinforced our impression. The result is impressive and of high architectural quality.
The collaboration with BST has been smooth throughout the process, and their personnel have demonstrated their professional competence. I am looking forward to deepening our collaboration and utilising the 3D expertise of BST.
